How MyCardSell Works
A simple, transparent, and secure process designed to protect every seller.
A verification-first process
MyCardSell follows a verification-first workflow. Before any gift card is redeemed, it is reviewed for balance, validity, and eligibility, and you are asked to confirm the transaction in writing. This order of operations protects sellers from mistakes and protects MyCardSell from fraudulent submissions.
Every stage of the process is designed around transparency and security: the payout offer is shown before you submit, verification results are shared with you by email, and no redemption takes place without your explicit authorization.
Step 1. Submit Your Gift Card
Step 1
Submit Your Gift Card
You begin by selecting your gift card brand and entering the requested card information. The payout offer is displayed on screen so you can review the amount before continuing. Submission is entirely voluntary — you choose whether to proceed after seeing the offer.
Step 2. Gift Card Verification
Step 2
Gift Card Verification
Every submitted gift card is reviewed before it is accepted. Verification may include:
- Balance confirmation
- Card validity
- Brand eligibility
- Duplicate detection
- Fraud screening
Submission does not guarantee acceptance.
Step 3. Seller Authorization
Step 3
Seller Authorization
If the gift card successfully passes verification, MyCardSell sends an authorization request to the email address associated with your submission. The request outlines the verified details so you can review them before deciding whether to continue.
You remain in control at this stage. You may approve the transaction, ask a question, or decline it entirely.
Important
No gift card is redeemed without the seller's explicit authorization.
Step 4. Gift Card Redemption
Step 4
Gift Card Redemption
Only after receiving your authorization does MyCardSell complete the redemption process. Until that confirmation is received, the card remains untouched.
If authorization is not received, the gift card is not redeemed and the transaction does not move forward.
Step 5. Electronic Payout
Step 5
Electronic Payout
After the authorized transaction is completed, the approved payout is sent electronically using the payment method you selected from the options supported by MyCardSell. Cash payments are not offered.
Processing times may vary depending on verification requirements and the payment providers involved, so delivery timing cannot be guaranteed.
